November 19, 2002 American Pilots Talk |
|
By Brenda Carol, Newswriter
Allied Pilots Association President John Darrah met this
week with American Airlines chief Don Carty to ask for a role in the planning
process as the nation's largest airline looks at cost-cutting. Through a union
statement, Darrah said, the pilots were "prepared to explore a range of
compensation options ..." Darrah added that American Airlines pilots work
at rates well below that of their peers at Northwest, Delta and even United,
but that the pilots were looking forward to continued dialogue with management
in the hopes of achieving a speedy financial recovery for the airline.
