A diverse panel of innovators will present lectures about their latest work in the design and construction of electric aircraft and innovations in battery design. Representatives from Airbus are expected to talk about their e-Fan project, J. Philip Barnes of Northrop-Grumman’s talk is on “regenerative electric flight,” Pipistrel’s Tine Tomazic will explore converting GA aircraft to electric propulsion, and Eric Raymond of Solar Flight will report on progress in electric and solar-powered aircraft. Other speakers are expected from NASA, the University of California, Northrop-Grumman and other established and emerging companies.

Besides the schedule of talks, the event includes a cocktail hour and a series of theme dinners to encourage networking among the attendees and speakers. Discounted early registration at $499 is open now online. The nonprofit CAFE Foundation works to create and advance the understanding of personal aircraft technologies through research, analysis and education.
