Indias aviation ministry is teaming with Farnborough International, the company that organizes the famous air show in England every two years, to organize a show on a similar scale and scope in Hyderabad, India in October. India Aviation 2008 will be modeled after the English show and will run from Oct. 15 to Oct. 18. The booming aviation sector offers tremendous business opportunities and this show will have the most powerful event, an unnamed ministry official told The Times of India.

India doesnt have that many airports and hasnt been able to host a major show because it couldnt afford to close any facility that was large enough to accommodate one. That will change in March when Hyderabads new international airport is opened and the existing field, Begumpet Airport, becomes a reliever. We wanted a dedicated functional airport for this kind of show as India is witnessing the highest growth rate of passenger traffic and all global players are evincing keen interest, the official said. Begumpet … will be the prefect site for the airshow.”
