Flying Expo ‘First Of Many’

The Flying Aviation Expo is “definitely the first of many” says the president of the show. Marco Parratto told AVweb in a podcast interview that preregistration numbers (2,100) and a quality list of exhibitors has encouraged him and his primary sponsors to keep mounting the show. He described the show as having “an aviation core with a lifestyle component” so the aviation exhibitors might have a jeweler or a luxury product seller as a neighbor while aircraft share space with exotic cars, including the Tesla electric car.

Revival of the parade of planes was an important component of the show and this year involved 32 aircraft. Parratto said there’s room to show 100 or more aircraft at the Palm Springs venue. He said he expects next year’s event to be even larger as more vendors join the event. Many expressed interest in this year’s show but because of the relatively short lead time from the announcement seven months ago didn’t have the money or staff available. Several vendors AVweb spoke with said they would return to the show and one said he would like to see it extended by a day to four days.
