Mooney, which announced a reboot of its iconic brand with new investors early this year, will reassert its presence at EAA AirVenture this week with the first delivery of its Acclaim Type S since restarting the production line after a five-year hiatus. The airplane, which was sold via an online auction to the highest bidder, will be delivered on Tuesday. Mooney also said this week it will partner with Redbird Flight Simulations to bolster its in-house training program. Mooney has bought three full-motion simulators, which will be installed at themanufacturing site inKerrville, Texas; at the global corporate headquarters in Chino, California; and at a new office in Beijing set to open later this summer.

The simulators will be customized to mimic every aspect of the Mooney experience, and will be used for sales demos to prospective buyers as well as for training. They will feature a fully enclosed cockpit, custom wrap-around visuals, scenario-based training compatibility, quick-change configurations and an electric motion platform. Mooney will be demonstrating desktop versions of the simulators at its booth at EAA AirVenture all this week.
