New From Zenair, Two Week Wonder

Zenair is now offering a two-week factory-assist program for its CH 750 Cruzer kit aircraft, the company announced this week at EAA AirVenture. Participants in the program will work at the Zenair factory in Ontario, Canada, and by the end of the two weeks, they’ll have partially completed the airframe; attached the wings and tail; and installed the engine, prop, instrument panel, controls, and fuel system. On the final day, they’ll start the engine and taxi the aircraft. Zenair says they will provide a fully equipped shop with everything builders need to complete the project, and experienced technicians will work with the participants for 10 hours a day, six to seven days a week.

Glasair developed a Two Weeks to Taxi program in 2006. The option has proved popular with homebuilders, who appreciate the access to tools and expertise, and it has been OK’d by the FAA as in compliance with the spirit of the 51-percent rule. Zenair is offering an introductory price of $99,990 for the Cruzer, which includes the complete airframe, engine and prop, and a Dynon avionics package.
