AVwebs weekly review of whats new in aviation turned up news that Bose Aviation will become a sponsor of the Air Race Classic, the original King Air is being restored for a flight around the world, Scheme Designers has unveiled a new website for aircraft paint schemes and Pro Star Aviation has received Brazilian approval for installation of the Cobham Satcom Aviator in King Airs. The Air Race Classic announced a three-year sponsorship from Bose Aviation. For Air Race Classic years 2014, 2015, and 2016, Bose will award the Top Champion and Reserve Champion Teams Bose A20 Aviation headsets. The oldest, annual, all-female cross country air race in the United States will launch its ten-stop, four-day race from Concord, Calif., on June 16. It wraps up in New Cumberland, Pa. The very first Beechcraft King Air, serial number LJ-1, was certified 50 years ago. It is completing restoration in anticipation of a flight around the world on 100 percent renewable jet fuel. In addition to demonstrating the viability of renewable jet fuel, the flight will raise money to save and improve the lives of children in need.

Scheme Designers, designers of over 10,500 aircraft paint schemes worldwide, has launched an all-new and completely redesigned website at www.schemedesigners.com. The new Scheme Designers site provides what is described as a high level of rich content, intuitive navigation and an extensive paint scheme and vinyl design gallery for aircraft owners, aircraft manufacturers, airline managers, flight department leaders and the business aviation industry. According to the announcement, the new interface leads modern design trends in layout, functionality and color palate, while expanding the depth of quality information available to visitors. Finally, Pro Star Aviation announced it received ANAC certification (Brazil) for installation of the Cobham Satcom Aviator 200 SwiftBroadband System with WiFi into King Air models: B200, 300 and 350 series aircraft. The communication system provides ramp to altitude worldwide data and voice, with a wide range of in-flight capabilities including email, Internet browsing, smart phone connectivity, one high-quality, low-cost AMBE2 voice channel and a cabin LAN network for laptops, tablets and smartphones via WiFi and three hardware ethernet connections.
