One Marine is dead and 21 others were injured after what the Corps called a “hard landing mishap” in Hawaii on Sunday. Details of the mishap were not available at our deadline but it occurred just before noon Hawaii Time and involved 21 Marines and one Navy corpsman training at Bellows Air Force Station on Oahu.
The aircraft was attached to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit based at Camp Pendleton in California. The injured were taken to hospitals on Oahu. The unit is one of seven similar operations in the Marines.
