PC-24 Orders Highlight Successful EBACE

Although the light jet segment continues to struggle, a newcomer to the market has an order book filled for more than three years. Pilatus took 84 orders for its PC-24 at the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE), which makes the next available slot in 2020, and the aircraft hasn’t flown yet. The company said the orders are all contractually bound with non-refundable deposits and it could have taken more but decided not to take orders beyond 2020. Although the PC-24 has performance and cabin features in line with most other 10-seat bizjets, it will be certified to use gravel and grass runways, which turned out to be a major selling point. Meanwhile, EBACE itself reported a successful show.

The show, which is Europe’s largest business aviation event, reported a 7 percent increase in attendance and 8 percent increase in exhibitors, making it the largest show so far. This years EBACE will be remembered as one of our strongest shows to date, said European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) CEO Fabio Gamba. We are delighted with the level of business done, and with the excitement that characterized the event, not to mention all of the positive feedback we have received from exhibitors and attendees alike.” EBAA and NBAA jointly sponsor the show, which is held at the Palexpo Convention Center at Geneva Airport.
