Quest Aircraft is showing its Kodiak utility turboprop at EAA AirVenture this week for the 10th year in a row, and new this year, the airplane can be ordered with the Garmin GFC 700 autopilot system. The altitude-based system integrates with the Kodiak’s standard G1000 avionics to provide maximum stability and control for the airplane, Quest said. The certification testing is complete; final FAA approval is expected soon, and first deliveries are scheduled for October, the company said. The new system will also feature a large “LVL” button that provides the pilot with a quick and easy way to get the wings level and hold altitude. “This is ideal for situations when the pilot may have disorientation or needs time to sort things out in the cockpit,” according to Quest’s news release.

Quest also announced this week that a new interior option, Summit Executive, is now available for the Kodiak. The cabin design features club seating for five or six in all-leather reclining seats, two fold-out tables and two easy-access storage cabinets. The new interior is featured in a Kodiak on display at Quest’s booth at Oshkosh. The Kodiak was designed for rugged backcountry flying, with STOL performance and float capability. The company is based in Sandpoint, Idaho.
