Four passengers and one crew member were treated for injuries after severe turbulence forced an American Airlines flight to divert while en route to Dallas from Seoul, South Korea, CNN reported this week. The flight landed in Narita, Japan, and those injured were taken to local hospitals, CNN said.American Airlines Flight 280 was a Boeing 777 carrying 240 passengers and a crew of 15. The flightdeparted Incheon International Airport on Tuesday bound for Dallas-Fort Worth when a strong winter storm shook the cabin, according to CNN.

After landing in Japan, respondersevaluated the 14 passengers and crew members who asked for medical attention, American spokeswoman Andrea Huguely told CNN.”Four passengers and one crew member have been transported to local hospitals for further observation and treatment,” she said in a written statement to the network.The flight continued on Wednesday to its destination. A winter storm over the area caused the severe turbulence, saidBrandon Miller, senior meteorologist for CNN International.
