AVweb’s search of what’s new in aviation found a few STC milestones reported byPlane Dynamix,Power Flow and Hartzell Propeller, and an announcement from Sonex Aircraft ofscholarships established in memory of Jeremy Monnett and Mike Clark.Plane Dynamixannounced its acquisition of Art Mattson’s line of FAA-approved airframe and engine STCs for Piper PA-28 series aircraft. Many of Mattson’s popular STCs are available for immediate shipment. These STCs include gap seals, engine upgrade certificates, propeller tip modifications and vortex generators.Power Flow Systems reportedthat the Tuned Exhaust System they developed specifically for Cessna’s popular Cardinal 177RG, at the behest of the Cardinal Flyers On-Line (CFO) owners group, has succeeded in the market well beyond anybody’s expectations. More than 180 of the firm’s Tuned Exhaust Systems have been shipped and are now flying on 177RGs worldwide.

Hartzell Propeller has delivered more than 150 advanced swept airfoil five-blade props for Daher TBM 700/850/900 aircraft in the 18 months since receiving FAA type certificate approval for the high-performance props. The announcement was made at the 15th Annual TBM Owners and Pilots Association Convention held in Charleston Oct. 7-11. Sonex Aircraft, in conjunction with the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, hasestablishedtwo scholarship programs to further the memory and legacy of lost team members Jeremy Monnett and Mike Clark. The Jeremy T. Monnett Memorial Scholarship Fund is available to graduating high school seniors from Oshkosh, Wisconsin, public and private high schools who are pursuing degrees in aerospace. The Mike Clark Memorial Scholarship Fund is available to graduating high school seniors with a passion for aviation who plan to attend Clarks alma mater, Fox Valley Technical Colleges SJ Spanbauer Center, or other colleges for a degree in the aviation field.
