Red Arrows at the Sunderland Air Show 2007

Yes, we labeled the small version of this one. That’s because wecouldn’t find any other way to show off the amazing panorama that madeMichael Palmer of Prudhoe,Northumberland (U.K.) our “Picture of the Week” winner. Go on -click the image and view the original photo.

(Widescreen monitor users: Here’s your new desktop wallpaper!)

Incredible, eh? Just as much so is the note from Michael that theimage is exactly “as captured and has not been modified in any way.”

Relax a Little

Good advice from John Bentley ofBend, Oregon – who snapped this photo on his way to the Reno Air Races.

Float planes, air races, goofing around on AVweb – we’re allabout some relaxing, John, but you’d better get back to work before theboss notices!

Flying for Fun

That dang ol’ moon is a great backdrop for anything, andDaniel Valovich of Hot Springs,Arkansas proves it by shooting a “radio-controlled biplane” in front ofit.

Dawn Patrol

We’re entirely too embarrassed to admit what movie this gorgeous sunset from Patrick Mahaffey reminded us of. Suffice it to say, we’ll take Patrick’s photo over the movie any day.

Our local public radio station has been holding their annual pledgedrive, so we’ll borrow a page from their book: If you enjoy thephotos you see here every week, please –make acontribution. (Too bad public radio won’t accept our photodonations.)

A quick note for submitters: If you’ve got severalphotos that you feel are “POTW” material, your best bet is to submitthem one-a-week! That gives your photos a greater chance of seeingprint on AVweb, and it makes the selection process a little easier onus, too. 😉

A Reminder About Copyrights: Please take a moment to consider thesource of your image before submitting to our “Picture of the Week” contest. If you did not take the photo yourself, ask yourself if you are indeedauthorized to release publication rights to AVweb. If you’re uncertain, consult thePOTWRules ororsend us an e-mail.
