A Hero Rests

While in Victoria, British Columbia in October 2007, we spotted C-FLYL, one of the two Martin Mars water tankers operated by Coulson Flying Tankers. They can pick up 7,200 gallons of water in 25 seconds and deliver it as 60,000 pounds of fire retardant foam. With all the airborne firefighting going on around the country, I thought it would be a fitting tribute to a real aerial hero — the Mars Water Bomber.
