The Weekender: A Good Day To Fly Indoors

The Weekender is on the road after Thanksgiving and found a few places to stop on SocialFlight. All pilots(current and non-current) are invited to share their experience with budding aviators at the St. Louis Science Center, where the Gateway Eagles will host nine simulator stations to introduce visitors to flying the Cessna 172. Volunteer instructors can earn free museum membership. Join fellow pilots gathering the last Saturday of the month for breakfast at South Valley Regional Airport in Utah. The group will serve eggs, sausage, pancakes and fruit along with discounts for avgas and rental/instruction in aircraft at Leading Edge Aviation.

Next week, a safety seminarin Bismarck, North Dakota, will discuss “Enhanced Vision Systems and Angle of Attack.” Meet the group on Tuesday to review the four forces of flight along with angle of attack knowledge. This is a FAASTeam safety seminar that counts for Wings credit.Winter flying will be the topic at a seminar on Thursday, Dec. 3, at Smith Field in Fort Wayne, Indiana. All are invited to bring a friend or family member for an evening reviewing cold-weather operations, maintenance tips and sharing your experiences. Enjoy pizza and door prizes too.
