VFR pilots know that while operating in level, cruising flight on a magnetic course of 0 degrees through 179 degrees, you fly any odd thousand-foot MSL altitude plus 500 feet. Going the other way -- 180 degrees through 359 degrees -- it's even thousand plus 500 feet. This rule applies to flights more than (_____) feet above the surface.
