Question of the Week

An AVweb reader asks, "Should Sport Pilot training include spin training?" Pick the answer that's closest to your opinion:
Yes, Sport Pilot training should include spin training. This is a no-brainer.
No. If Private Pilots don't need real spin training, why would a "lesser" rating require it?
The rules need to be changed. We all should have spin training very early on — that means Private Pilots AND Sport Pilots.
Take a tip from Cirrus — if the thing starts to spin, pull the ballistic 'chute.
Spins are dangerous and easy to avoid — that's why they're not included in intitial training. Knowledge of spins — and spin recovery technique — is good enough. The last thing we need is to start killing off our newbies — and instructors — while training for a new rating designed for weekend fliers.
