Question of the Week

If you've been reading AVweb recently, then you've seen that there are some differences of opinion regarding what controllers do all day and whether or not a shortage is imminent. What's (closest to) your opinion?
Air traffic controllers and the controllers' union are doing a great job of looking out for the future of safe air travel in this country.
The controllers' union is doing a great job of protecting their own interests -- great salaries and generally light workloads -- but may be doing the rest of us a disservice.
I was appalled by the inaccuracies presented in Jane Doe's letter.
I was appalled by NATCA president John Carr's response to the Jane Doe letter.
The FAA has blinders on. If we don't address the issue of a controller shortage now, we will find our collective airborne futures significantly less pleasant.
