Question of the Week

Push-button flying — a good thing or a bad thing?
Don't write us off yet. Pilots are still the most important instrument in the cockpit.
If machines can do it better, let them. The idea is to get there safely, not to push your skills to the limit.
I rank the skilled pilot at the top of the chart. It is a very sad thing to think pilots will have no need to practice (or develop) their skills in deference to machines.
Easier-flying airplanes means more pilots, means more airplanes, means good things for the industry. Bring on the machines!
