Question of the Week

Lycoming's crankshaft issues continue. This week, AVweb wants to know if Lycoming's actions have affected your impression of the company and its products.

Has your opinion of Lycoming and/or Lycoming products changed in the wake of recalls and retirements?

YES, FOR THE BETTER. The company is clearly looking out for the safety of its customers.
YES, FOR THE WORSE. This crankshaft insanity has crushed my faith in Lycoming.
NOT ESPECIALLY. Lycoming is behaving as it should — taking proactive steps to solve a problem before it becomes one. Kudos.
NOT ESPECIALLY. Business is complicated — especially under the eyes of the FAA. There's bad and there's good. Mistakes happen. Lycoming still makes great engines.
I can't believe a company like that is still in business. The nightmare is that I still have to rely on them.
