Is the use of cellphone a risk to aircraft safety?
I don't believe so. I've used them many times on GA and airline aircraft.
There might be a risk of interference but I'm not totally convinced of that.
Sure, there is some risk, but airlines over-exaggerate the issue.
Yes, this safety issue is critical. Using cellphones in the air compromises everyone's safety.
