Question of the Week

This week, AVweb wants to know a little bit about your flying pedigree.

What influences helped bring you to aviation (or aircraft ownership)?

My father owned a plane
My mother owned a plane
Both my parents had aircraft
Neither of my parents had an aircraft; I'm the first
Neither of my parents fly, but I found myself financially able, and it seemed practical for reasons beyond the joy of flight
I was a military pilot — or used military benefits to pursue pilot training
I had a lot of money lying around, and flying sounded like fun
I've got the bug — and it doesn't run in my family. I'm not especially wealthy — most or all of my extra cash is wrapped up in flying, and my quality of living (outside of aviation) would improved substantially if I gave it up. But, again ... the bug.
