Question of the Week

Two of the Big Three automakers are now selling off their flight departments in response to the Capitol Hill P.R. disaster the auto industry suffered when CEOs arrived for potential bailout hearings aboard private bizjets.

Do you think Ford and General Motors should have sold off their business jet fleets?

NO. Business aircraft are vital tools.
MAYBE. In times of restraint, everything's on the table, but eliminating the flight departments was probably over the top.
WHY NOT? With flight management and charter options, they can get the same service using aircraft that are more efficiently deployed.
DEFINITELY. Teleconferencing and airline service should meet all of their needs.
This was a straight public-relations exercise, and the jets will be back.
OTHER (My opinion doesn't appear as a choice.)
