Question of the Week

Although the personal air vehicle has long been a goal for dreamers and schemers, new technology seems to be enabling machines that will be able to raise people from the surface but won't necessarily be airplanes. AVweb wants to know what pilots think about sharing the skies with these devices.

How do you feel about so-called personal aerial vehicles?

We need to embrace new ideas and technology, not stand in the way.
There are some good ideas out there, but there should be some regulatory framework.
Aviation agencies need to get a handle on the new technology and regulate accordingly to the same degree as traditional aviation for the machines and operators.
They should be kept away from airports and populated areas until proven safe.
They're going to kill people and give aviation a bad name, so they should be actively discouraged.
OTHER (My opinion doesn't appear as a choice.)
