Question of the Week

In light of the closure of programs like Daniel Webster College's flight training program and the growing acceptance of Web-based training, is flight training due for an overhaul?

Is flight training due for a refresher?

If anything, it should go back to the days of stick-and-rudder and basic instruments.
As long as traditional programs incorporate modern equipment and techniques, they work just fine.
For much of training, the old standards work well — but there must be more emphasis on new technology and the coming changes to airspace management.
Not much of what most pilots learned is relevant anymore, and a major overhaul is needed.
They should be teaching students to fly UAVs. That's the future.
OTHER (None of these reflects my opinion on the state of flight training.)
