Question of the Week

Bell Helicopter announced the development of a new pilotless helicopter based on the 407 model, and virtually any aircraft, it seems, can be made into a UAV. Where do they fit in the National Airspace System?

How do we handle UAVs in the National Airspace System?

Their electronics, combined with ground control, probably make safer operations than what we have. Just let them in.
Phase them in at night and see how they do.
Limited flights with strict oversight might be O.K., but I like eyes looking out the windows.
Until UAVs can match the judgment and flexibility of pilots in the cockpit, leave them to the military.
OTHER (My opinion doesn't appear as a choice.)
