Question of the Week

The big question in the commercial airplane business — and one that wasn't answered at the Paris Air Show — is whether Boeing will upgrade the 737 at great cost (because of design issues) or create a whole new airplane. If you were Boeing's CEO, what would you do in the single-aisle market?

Should Boeing update the 737 or start fresh?

The 737 has always set the standard for its market segment and should be modernized to maintain that heritage.
The 737 is great, but it comes down to the cost of redesigning it.
The 737 was a game changer when it was introduced in the 1960s. Boeing should take that leap again with a new airplane.
Boeing should consider phasing out the 737 and concentrating on bigger aircraft that make more money for the company.
OTHER (My opinion doesn't appear as a choice — but maybe I'll send you an e-mail.)
