Question of the Week

This one is mainly for the pro pilots in our midst. Bill Voss of the Flight Safety Foundation says pilots are suffering from "automation addiction" and unable to cope with systems loss. What do you think?

Do modern pilots rely too much on the airplane to fly itself?

Relying on the airplane is company policy, and I follow it.
The airplane knows best most of the time, but I'm alert to problems in the systems.
If the systems fail, I'm confident I'll be able to fly the airplane.
I don't trust the airplane, and I'm always ready to fly it.
OTHER (My opinion doesn't appear as a choice — but maybe I'll send you an e-mail.)
