Friends of the Earth has upped the ante in its bid to ban lead additives in aviation fuel by suing EPA to get that process moving.

What are your thoughts on FOE's leaded avgas lawsuit?

Good for Friends of the Earth. This issue should have been resolved decades ago.

Lead doesn't belong in any fuel, and the FOE action should spur the industry to embrace alternatives.

We should address the lead issue but not until thoroughly tested and practical alternatives are ready to use.

There may be no practical substitute for leaded fuel for some engines, and those should be exempted.

Friends of the Earth is trying to destroy general aviation.
