Question of the Week

The NTSB says GA has a lot of work to do to reach acceptable levels of safety. What do you think?

Can general aviation ever be as safe as the airlines?

GA is inherently more dangerous because of the flight profiles and equipment.
Technology and training improvements can help, but GA will never approach the safety levels of the airlines.
There is plenty the GA industry could do to improve safety, but the investment is unrealistic.
GA needs to get with the flight safety program. Accident prevention costs are minimal compared to the economic and human cost of accidents.
