LABORING
FOR OTHERS: WALT FRICKE AND THE ALL-VOLUNTEER VETERANS AIRLIFT
COMMAND
There are good people who fight so you don't have to,
but sometimes even they need your help. Walt Fricke is founder
and airboss of Veterans Airlift Command. When soldiers return
wounded from service and need help with their own transportation or that
of family members, Fricke is there for them. What began three years ago
as one man and an airplane has swelled to more than 1,200 volunteers.
But the nationwide non-profit network is still efficiently organized by
Fricke and his staff of one. AVweb's Glenn Pew had the
opportunity to talk with Fricke, and he took it.
