Introducing: Our Best Pilot
NEW Bose A20 Aviation Headset
Bose was the first to introduce active noise reducing headsets to
aviation more than 20 years ago, forever changing the way pilots fly.
Now the Bose A20 Aviation Headset sets an entirely new standard,
providing significantly greater noise reduction than currently
available. It also features an improved level of comfort, clear audio,
audio input and priority switching.
BROKERS' BILL OF RIGHTS
As margins narrow and competition for
charter customer heats up, charter brokers are being squeezed out by
operators trying to claim all of the revenue in a charter for
themselves, says Matthew Winer of Executive Air Services. He's
drafted a document aimed at addressing the needs of both camps, and
AVweb's Russ Niles spoke with him at NBAA in Las Vegas.

KODIAK EXECUTIVE INTERIOR
Executive style and comfort come to the rugged Quest
Kodiak. The tuboprop Kodiak can carry more than 3,500 pounds of useful
load into and out of 1,200-foot unimproved airfields. (No paved runway
or airport required.) The airplane can cruise at 170 knots over 1,000
nautical miles. And it can now do all that with air conditioning,
weather radar, synthetic vision GPS, TKS flight into known icing
protection, and leather-clad executive seating for six.

LINEAGE 1000 BUSINESS JET
Embraer's Lineage 1000 business jet at NBAA 2011 in
Las Vegas -- this is not your average executive transport and compares
with offerings from Airbus and Boeing.
Aerospace is modernizing the Hawker/Beechjet 400A/XP business jet with
new engines and avionics, and they say the result is more efficient than
similar aircraft and very cost-competitive.
P.180 AVANTI II
the most unusual-looking aircraft flying and shown at the static display
during the 2011 NBAA convention in Las Vegas, the Avanti II is an
all-Italian twin-turboprop airplane. Manufacturer Piaggio Aero says the
Avanti II offers superior speed per horsepower and larger interior cabin
dimensions than its competition in the turboprop segment.
NOTEBOOK: THE POLITICS OF EXCESS
As of Press Day, the NBAA
Convention had adapted well to its 2011 setting -- Las Vegas, the showy
capital of excess. But what happens at NBAA may not stay in Vegas, as
celebrity and politics share the spotlight in a show of such
theatricality that editor-in-chief Russ Niles had to post to the
AVweb Insider blog about it.
