WWII Heritage Days
WWII Heritage Days is a Public History program commemorating the Second World War and The Greatest Generation. The weekend long event combines vintage military aircraft, vehicles, equipment, educational displays, and demonstrations, including recreated battles between reenactors portraying American and Axis troops. WWII Heritage Days highlights include an opening ceremony honoring local WWII veterans (Sat 10am) and "Keep 'em Flying", a 1940's-theme hangar dance complete with 21-piece swing band and period attire, to be held Sat, April 24, 6pm-11pm (Ticket purchase required) Vintage Aircraft that fly-in to receive continental breakfast, lunch voucher and discounted dance ticket if purchased by April 19. The CAF Dixie Wing is a non-profit education organization that relies on donations and fundraisers to preserve WWII aircraft and teach WWII history.
