  • Nothing Beats a Piet and a Fleet!

    This 1933 Pietenpol Aircamper (the oldest one known to be flying) attended the 1954 Antique Airplane Association Fly-In, and this 1929 Fleet Model 1 attended the 1955 Antique Airplane Association Fly-in. In 2013, they were back again and teamed up for this fly-over.

    Tribute to Amelia Earhart in Harbor Grace, Newfoundland (Canada) with a DC-3 that she once flew onto the island at one time before her final trip with the Lockheed.

    Used a Blackberry Playbook and resized the pic to fit.

  • Rainbow at the Airport

    We landed at our home airport (SMD) just after a storm passed. Then this beautiful rainbow appeared as the sun came out.

    The picture was taken with my iPhone 4 while I was standing at my hangar door and looking east-northeast, my wife is standing under the wing of our airplane to stay out of the light rain that was falling at the time.

    The only change I made to the photo was to reduce its resolution so as to reduce the file size.

    Shot at the Brantford (Ontario, Canada) Air Show several years ago. Forgot I had this one until recently!

    Shot is of the RCAF Snowbirds Air Demonstration team in performance. The air intake is on a Harvard Mk 4 CF-UUU of the Canadian Warplane Heritage fleet. I was the CWH rampmaster for that show.

  • A "Glorious Morning" in a Balloon

    A glory around the shadow of a hot air balloon flown by Rick Behr from the Boar's Head Inn in Charlottesville, Virginia -- as seen on the side of a low-lying fog bank. The balloon was about 200 feet over a reservoir near Earlysville, Virginia. We were in a group of nine senior citizens from the Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg, Virginia taking an early morning flight on October 21.
