Untouched photo captured from HD video. Larry Henderson of Keller, TX copyright © Larry Henderson I took my little boy (one year old) up on his first plane ride in our little Cessna 140. He got to meet Fifi for the first time this night as well, since I'm based at the same hangar (Vintage Flying Museum) as Fifi now. It was a fun night! This photo was taken with my wife's iPhone and had a slight change to the white balance; otherwise, this is the real deal. Pete Lossner of Lake Oswego, OR Our crew. We were stationed at Kincheloe Air Force Base (Michigan) and volunteered for Vietnam. We were retrained in the D model and flew for six months out of Thailand, Guam, and Okinawa. The photo was scanned from the original taken by the base photographer after a memorable mission. We had multiple electrical failures; released the external bombs but could not open the bomb bay doors and had to return to Guam with internal weapons; could not jettison the internal bombs because the gear was down and locked due to electrical issues; and the factory said the bombs would hit the rear gear and bounce back into the bomb bay. So after 14 hours flying, two refueling, and hours of troubleshooting, a decision was made to land with the bombs in place in the bomb bay. Captain Bert Green, who later was an FAA test pilot assigned to test new Boeing planes in Seattle, greased the landing. I was the co-pilot. I changed the contrast; it's an old photo.
