Solar Impulse 2, the one-of-a-kind solar-powered airplane, has launched from Nanjing, China, to attempt a six-day-long nonstop flight to Hawaii, 4,412 nm away. "You're showing to the world what is possible to do with clean technologies," project leader Bertrand Piccard told pilot Andrew Borschberg just before the launch on Saturday evening.
