Shirley You Need to See This ...
As AVweb reported last Thursday, a Continental Airlines MD-80 wound up in the terminal building at Newark International Airport June 14 after two mechanics inadvertently started one of the jet's engines during maintenance. Said airline spokeswoman Sarah Anthony at the time, "One of the engines fired up and the aircraft surged forward, hitting the terminal.... The aircraft was lodged in the building." The event is reminiscent of an opening sequence from the classic comedy movie "Airplane!" Now, AVweb has images of the aftermath. It's an entirely different kind of parking, altogether.
