Nowadays, the airport kid is an endangered species. We're talking about the teenager who rides his or her bike to the airport and leans against the fence just to watch the airplanes take off and land. When AVweb's Rick Durden spotted such a fence-leaning youngster recently and struck up a conversation, it conjured up memories of the days long ago when Rick was an airport kid himself. If your eyes don't mist up after reading Rick's column this month, it's probably time to tear up your medical certificate.
