Although EFIS systems are supposed to fail less often than iron gyros, they do still fail. Cirrus expert instructor John Fiscus, of Kirkland, Washington's Flight Academy, tells how he trains pilots to deal with PFD failures in glass-equipped airplanes. As with any other emergency, it requires a basic procedure, then drill, drill, drill.
