Gordon Boettger has seen 1,000 feet-per-minute climb rates at 23,000 feet without an engine. His three-turn point glider flight of more than 1,280 miles is the longest flight ever flown in the northern hemisphere in a sailplane. Now he wants to conquer the night. He spoke with AVweb's Glenn Pew.
