The 70-year-old pilot of N1WA became incapacitated as his Cirrus SR22 climbed for 17,000 feet toward the Rockies. Without intervention he might have died. A regional airline crew knew that and worked with ATC and the pilot's wife (also on the Cirrus) to bring the small plane down, safely. 25-year-old Ian Norris was flying captain for the regional flight, and we spoke with him to hear the story. (Audio of the actual event is available here.)
