Cospas-Sarsat announced ten years ago that it would stop monitoring the 121.5 MHz ELT emergency frequency in 2009, and Tuesday actions by the FCC suggested the aviation community isn't ready for the changeover. AVweb's Glenn Pew spoke with Ric Peri, vice president of government and industry affairs for the Aircraft Electronics Association, to find out what's going on and how we got here.
