On Tuesday, the House Aviation Subcommittee heard from air traffic controller Patrick Harten about his experience on the day US Airways Flight 1549 ditched in the Hudson River — his first public statement about the event. The panel also heard from Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, who warned the panel that the airline industry is in trouble and reminded them that the best safety gear for an airplane is an experienced crew. Our podcast includes the full statements from both men. Written testimony from all witnesses at the hearing, as well as video of the complete event, is available here.
