General Aviation Modifications, Inc. in Ada, Oklahoma continues its testing and research on its high-octane avgas replacement, G100UL. In this podcast, GAMI's George Braly says the company is refining its formulations on the fuel and that preliminary contacts with refiners indicate that it can be made from components "found inside the fence of any refinery." Although neither Swift's nor GAMI's prices are set in stone, Braly believe G100UL can be made at a price within about 50¢ of current avgas prices, plus or minus.
