Conventional wisdom has it that you can't operate a flight school using tailwheel aircraft - so nobody even tries it, right? Not really. AVweb recently interviewed Paul Leadabrand of Boise, Idaho-based Glass Cockpit Aviation, a school that's having great success in training both light sport and private pilots in the taildragger version of the Kitfox LSA. In this unique on-the-fly in-cockpit podcast, Leadabrand tells AVweb's Paul Bertorelli that students participating in the taildragger option have better skills when the training is complete — and, so far, none of them have indicated a preference for tricycle-gear airplanes.
