(HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA) – Scheyden Precision Eyewear – the market leader for premium lenses and frames engineered for aviation, fishing, golf and other precision pursuits – announces the availability of tax-deductible VIP Experience packages for the Third Annual Scheyden Catalina Air Show, taking place on Saturday, October 4th, 2014 in Avalon Bay on Catalina Island.

Quickly becoming one of Southern California’s most popular social outings, the Scheyden Catalina Airshow is the only event of its kind in North America held over beautiful Pacific Ocean waters. Several of the world’s most skilled aviators will be supporting the mission of sharing the magic and excitement of aerobatics with spectators young and old through their high flying performances, including “Super Dave” Mathieson in his customized Scheyden MX2, Jon Melby, Stephan Trischuk, Vicky Benzing and living legend Clay Lacy flying his stunning, vintage United Airlines Douglas DC-3.

“When you take a resort destination like Catalina, with its Hollywood ties, its proximity to Los Angeles and the natural amphitheater, you have a perfect combination for a great spectator event,” says Jeff Herold, Scheyden Founder and instrument-rated private pilot. “Where else can you watch an air show from a beach or boat? There should be a huge number of aircrafts flying in for the event so I hope they book early!”

The ticketed VIP Experience will offer attendees an exclusive viewing area with hors d’oeuvres, along with five hours of beer and wine tasting that features two of the nation’s finest craft breweries, Stone Brewery and Firestone Walker Brewing Co. Also included are a variety of musical performances, with one of the best Jim Morrison impersonators, Dave Brock of Wild Child, joining legendary guitarist Robby Krieger of The Doors for a headline performance.

“Whether you’re looking to entertain clients or just want a weekend getaway, the Catalina Air Show is one of the region’s premier events,” adds Jeff Herold. “This only happens once a year and it’s an incredible way to give back while treating yourself or others to breathtaking aerobatics in one of the most beautiful settings.”

Offered at CatalinaAirShow.com/tickets, these special packages provide unique access to a world-class entertainment opportunity. Benefiting the Catalina Island Aviation Foundation and Catalina Island Conservancy, proceeds will help maintain the island’s Airport-in-the-Sky and nesting grounds for American bald eagles.

About Catalina Island Aviation Foundation

The non-profit Catalina Island Aviation Foundation was established in 2014 to protect and promote more than 100 years of aviation history on one of America’s most beautiful islands. Its work includes helping maintain Catalina’s Airport-in-the-Sky. Located 10 miles from the city of Avalon, the airport was completed in 1946. It occupies a 1,602-foot-tall mountaintop at the center of the Island and has a single 3,250-foot-long runway. To promote natural flight alongside general aviation, the Catalina Island Aviation Foundation has partnered with the Catalina Island Conservancy to help protect nesting grounds for the American Bald Eagles that call the island home.
