Jalil Jatip is the new director of quality assurance at Superior Air Parts. He was previously the quality fabrication department manager for Lockheed Martin on the F-16, F-22, and F-35 platforms.
Mike Spears is the new senior director for Lakota production and retrofit at Eurocopter's Columbus, Miss. facility. He was formerly general manager of the Sikorsky Aircraft production facility in Troy, Ala.
Rob Higby is the new VP of Sales and Marketing for StandardAero's airlines and fleets business. He was formerly VP of worldwide airline sales for GE Aviation.
Dianne and Tim White have purchased Kansas Aircraft Corporation from Michele Stauffer. The Whites both formerly worked at Cessna, where Tim was VP of sales for the Americas and Dianne was VP of corporate communications. Stauffer will remain active in the business.
Firoz Tarapore is the interim president and CEO of StandardAero. Tarapore is a director of the company and will stay on the board as the company looks for a permanent CEO.
Billy Palmertree has joined US Aviation in Denton, Texas and is running the avionics department and FAA Part 145 Repair Station. He was formerly general manager of Tomlinson Avionics.
Richard Shyne and Brian Atkinson have both been promoted from sales associates to sales directors. Atkinson will look after the Chicago area and Shyne the Midwest.
Peter Lyons is the new president of Avionyx, a Costa Rica-based engineering services provider for avionics manufacturers. He founded Aspen Avionics and was its first CEO. He left Aspen last year.
Col. Jayson Altieri and Tim Verrett are the newest members of the Civil Air Patrol Board of Governors. Altieri is an active Army officer, and Verrett is an Anchorage lawyer.
Darrell Herrera has been hired by Bloom Business Jets to lead its charter aircraft business. Herrera was previously at Motorola, where he ran its flight operations.
Sean McGeough is the new president of Nextant Aerospace. McGeough was previously head of Hawker Beechcraft's operations in most of the world outside North America.
Air Zoo, the aviation museum at Kalamazoo, Michigan, has hired Troy Thrash as president and CEO. He replaces long-time CEO Bob Ellis, who is retiring after 35 years. Thrash is now the executive director of the Da Vinci Science Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Chris Klaber has been taken on as a pilot at Aero Charter in St. Louis. He's captain on their Beech Baron and TBM aircraft and first officer on King Airs and Citations.
Doug Nichols has been named CEO and board member of Aerion Corporation. He was previously the COO and before that worked for Boeing in a variety of senior management positions.
