AeroShell Named Official Oil of Reno Air Races

Shell Oil Products US today announced that its AeroShell engine oil is the “Official Oil of the Reno Air Races.” As the official oil, AeroShell will be used in five of the aircraft classes competing in the races – more than 800 gallons of AeroShell oil products will be used.

“Race pilots push their engines to the edge. They trust AeroShell because we test its performance to make sure it stands up to a pilots needs,” said Bob Merrill, Shell Lubricants marketing manager. “After watching competitors rely on AeroShell to meet their extreme operating demands, we know that any pilot will be confident in AeroShells performance and capabilities.”

In the past, Shell has provided AeroShell to specific classes participating in the races, such as Biplane and Formula One classes, but this is the first time AeroShell has been named the Official Oil of the Reno Air Races. The National Championship Air Races (NCAR) and Air Show have been held outside of Reno, Nev., since 1964. The event is organized by the Reno Air Racing Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of air racing. The NCAR runs from Thursday, September 12 through Sunday, September 15 with racing planned for aircraft in the Biplane, Formula One, Sport, AT-6, Jet and Unlimited classes.
