Airshow veteran Julie Clark announced her forthcoming retirement at AirVenture 2019, capping a 40-year career. “You really know when it’s time,” she told AOPA. Clark has flown the same T-34 Mentor in hundreds of airshows over the years and is a regular at AirVenture. She said she still loves performing but the travel schedule is getting old.
Clark is self-contained on the road and ferries the aircraft herself from show to show. She will perform her last show at Thunder Over Georgia Sept. 28 to 30. She will fly her final performance at her home airport of Rancho Murieta, California, Oct. 19.
