Flying Eyes Shows Expanded Line Of Headset-Friendly Sunglasses

The original Flying Eyes Hawk sunglasses have micro-thin temples that make them comfortable and convenient to wear under a headset and a flight helmet, and the company came to AirVenture with an expanded line to include a variety of new styles and options for prescriptions and bifocals. The thin temples make it easier to remove and install the glasses without taking off the headset, plus they eliminate noise leaks around the headset ear seals.

The lightweight, impact- and scratch-resistant lenses are attached to Resilamide (an aerospace polymer) frames that makes the glasses extremely light and virtually unbreakable. But buyers wanted more styling options (and sizes for smaller faces) and the company delivered. There’s the more modern Kingfisher, the Golden Eagle Sport wrap-style frames, the Kestrel Titanium frames, Cooper Titanium and the Titanium Hawk wide-frame model.

The company has partnered with opticians across the country who can provide the Flying Eyes glasses with prescription lenses, and the company suggests asking the optician to use Trivex lenses. These are an exceptionally clear, lightweight and impact-resistant material that work well for aviators. Flying Eyes now supplies its glasses to military flyers and special ops forces.
